La Jolla's Historic Harry's Coffee Shop Opening New Location In San Diego's North County

June 25, 2023

La Jolla's historic Harry's Coffee Shop is opening a new branch of its classic diner restaurant concept in San Diego's North County.

Founded in La Jolla in 1960 by Harry and Cathy Rudolph, Harry's Coffee Shop is a classic American diner restaurant inspired by the coffee shops and diners of Rudolph's native home of Brooklyn, NY. Harry's is now owned by the founders' son, John, who also operates Cass Street Bar & Grill and Harry's Taco Club in Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach, The Venetian in Point Loma, and Mike's Taco Club in Ocean Beach. Last fall, Rudolph purchased Americana restaurant in the heart of San Diego's North County city of Del Mar.

Americana will soon receive a minor renovation to become the second location of Harry's Coffee Shop. Like the original, expect an all-day menu with American breakfast staples, burritos, sandwiches, burgers, milkshakes, and a full bar with cocktails and beer. The neighboring space that houses Elixir juice bar will also be converted to become a branch of Harry's Taco Club, a fast-casual Mexican concept with a menu of tacos, burritos, chips, smothered fries, ceviche, quesadillas, and other Mexican-style side dishes, as well as soft drinks, agua fresca, fresh juices and açaí bowls.

Harry's Coffee Shop's second location is expected to open as early as this July at 1454 Camino Del Mar in San Diego's North County city of Del Mar. For more information, visit harryscoffeeshop.com and check out the menu below.
