Burgeon Beer Company To Open New Tasting Room In San Diego's North County

July 4, 2023

Carlsbad's 7-year-old, award-winning Burgeon Beer Company is opening a sprawling new brewpub in San Diego's North County.

Burgeon Beer Company was founded in Carlsbad, CA, in 2016 by longtime friends Matthew Zirpolo, Anthony Tallman and Derek Van Leeuwan. In 2020, the company opened The Oasis outdoor beer garden in the space previously occupied by Escondido Brewing Company, adjacent to the Escondido Feed & Pet Supply in North County. In the past few years, the company also opened a tasting room and restaurant on the base floor of the Savina by Bosa luxury condominium development in Little Italy and launched The Greenhouse, a 2,100 square-foot private event space at their main brewery at 6350 Yarrow Drive in Carlsbad. Over its near decade-long tenure, Burgeon has won multiple beer awards, including receiving a bronze medal for its Tight Focus IPA at this year's World Beer Cup.

Burgeon's next endeavor is launching an expansive location in the 2,100 square-foot ground floor space in the new Paseo Artist Village, a mixed-use affordable housing development with 60 apartments in San Diego's North County city of Vista. Expect the unit to be designed with reclaimed California fire-damaged wood, lush plant life, and green accents to capture the company's nature motif and offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The new tasting room will offer 18 taps of Burgeon's various beers like Treevana IPA and Carlsbad Crush Pale Ale, as well as local and California wines. The yet-to-be named outpost is also expected to have a full onsite food component through partnerships with local vendors.

Burgeon Beer Company's new tasting room is anticipated to open by year's end at 501 South Santa Fe Avenue in Vista, CA. For more information, visit burgeonbeer.com.
