In anticipation of the restaurant’s upcoming ten year anniversary, Juniper & Ivy in San Diego's Little Italy is homing in on their commitment to supporting the local agricultural community with a nightly, hyper-local prix-fixe menu.
Juniper and Ivy has announced an exciting new chapter as it approaches its ten-year anniversary. In celebration of the upcoming milestone, the Little Italy restaurant destination will embark on a bold journey through the month of August, ditching its usual menu for a constantly-rotating, 4-course prix-fixe dinner that showcases its culinary maturity and deep-rooted connection to the local community.
Offered for $80 per person with optional upgrades, the prix-fixe menu will highlight San Diego's local ingredients with each dish crafted by a team of talented chefs led by James Beard-nominated Chef Anthony Wells. Juniper & Ivy plans to serve the prix-fixe menu with very limited a la carte options through the month of August, and with potential to extend beyond. The a la carte menu will be available at the bar, outside and on the patio with small bites, and if guests enjoying the prix-fixe want to add on from a la carte, they are more than welcome to.
"We are incredibly excited to commemorate our ten-year anniversary with this homage to San Diego," said Chef Anthony Wells. "Our team has poured their heart and soul into crafting this unique dining experience, and we cannot wait to share it with our loyal patrons and newcomers alike."
The new prix-fixe menu format reinforces Juniper & Ivy's commitment to support local farmers, fishermen, fermenters, and artisans. Every ingredient featured in the menu will be thoughtfully selected daily, from boutique farm-fresh produce to artisanal cheeses, sustainably caught seafood, and locally sourced meats. Expect dishes like spot prawns with gold bar squash, chorizon and Delfino cilantro; fresh made agnolotti pasta with creamed corn, burrata, garlic breadcrumbs and assorted basils; aged duck breast with braised leeks, duck confit croquette and blueberry jus; and passionfruit cream pie with graham cracker crust, lime "cool whip" and lime mint.
"When Juniper and Ivy opened nearly ten years ago, I was both confident in and apprehensive about our culinary mission," says owner Mike Rosen. "Our goal: to create a refined but not stuffy menu using the best local ingredients available. The Juniper and Ivy family could not be more appreciative of the support we have received over the last decade and hope that our prix-fixe retrospective will ignite and invigorate yet another culinary conversation."
