San Diego's Trust Restaurant Group Rolls Out Wild Child Ice Cream Truck

San Diego's ever-expanding Trust Restaurant Group is rebranding its Mr. Trustee Ice Cream concept to become a new roaming food truck dubbed Wild Child Ice Cream. 

Led by Trust Restaurant Group Executive Pastry Chef Jeremy Harville, Mr. Trustee debuted adjacent to sister concept Cardellino in San Diego's Mission Hills neighborhood in May 2020, offering rotating seasonal flavors of handcrafted ice cream, soft serve and pints to go from a street-side, walk-up window. Flavors include Cookies & Cream, Malted Chocolate Brownie, Strawberry Cheesecake, Honey-Vanilla, Butter Pecan, Mint Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie Dough and Berry Sorbet.

Trust Restaurant Group will soon unveil Wild Child Ice Cream Truck, which will be used for catering and charity events until the company finds a brick and mortar. Mr. Trustee will also soon change to the Wild Child brand as soon as the company's graphic designers complete work. Chef Jeremy's unique approach to ice cream flavors derive from the Trust Restaurant Group's dessert list will continue to be the main focus of the concept.

Trust Restaurant Group started in early 2016 with the opening of Trust Restaurant within design guru on the outskirts of Hillcrest. The expanding hospitality company was founded by alums of San Diego-based Eat.Drink.Sleep (JRDN, Decoy Dockside Dining), including Co-Owner/Chef Brad Wise, former GM/Managing Partner Steve Schwob, and Pastry Chef Jeremy Harville. In January 2019, the team (with financial backing by local real estate developer and co-owner of San Diego Legion rugby team Ryan Patterson) unveiled Fort Oak within developer Jonathan Segal's The Fort mixed-use building in Mission Hills. In January 2020, Trust Group opened all-day restaurant, bakery and marketplace Cardellino within the space previously occupied by Brooklyn Girl Eatery in Mission Hills. The company also owns two locations of The Wise Ox Butcher & Eatery and several branches of Rare Society steakhouse.
