La Jolla's three-decades-old breakfast destination The Cottage is opening a new outpost in the heart of San Diego's North County city of Del Mar.
The Cottage was founded within a former Victorian-style home in La Jolla in 1985 by Nanci Long, but the restaurant has had several owners over the years and is currently operated by Jason Peaslee. Over the more than 30 years since its opening, The Cottage has become a hotspot for its menu of traditional American and Southern California comfort dishes available for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Last summer, Peaslee along with his business partner Bernardo Kanarek opened a new outpost of The Cottage restaurant within Encinitas Village Shopping Center in San Diego's North County community of Encinitas.
The third area location of The Cottage will soon install in the ground floor space that previously housed Del Mar Rendezvous/Morning Muse within Del Mar Plaza. San Diego restaurant brokerage Location Matters, also brought Monarch Ccean Pub and Tamarindo Mexican to Del Mar Plaza, represented The Cottage in the deal. Like the other branches, expect the restaurant to serve a morning-focused menu of pancakes, French toast, omelets, Benedicts and other breakfast dishes, as well as a list of beer, wine, mimosas and rice liquor cocktails.
The Cottage Del Mar is anticipated to open by year's end at 1555 Camino Del Mar, Suite #102, on the ground floor of Del Mar Plaza. For more information, visit cottageencinitas.com and check out the sample menu below.
