Michelin-Starred Chef Jason McLeod Returns To San Diego With Multi-Course Dinner On September 2

August 24, 2023

The longtime corporate chef of San Diego's Consortium Holdings, Michelin-starred chef Jason McLeod is back in San Diego with plans to host a multi-course dinner for a very limited group on September 2.

In 2011, British Columbia-born Jason McLeod joined the team at San Diego-based Consortium Holdings (CH Projects), which at the time only had a handful of bars and restaurants with its crown achievement being Craft & Commerce in Little Italy. In the position of culinary director of the company, Chef Jason took the group from a hipster collective of style-over-substance, cocktail-forward establishments to a group known for its refined culinary output. Prior to joining CH, McLeod was the Executive Chef at Ria at The Elysian Hotel in Chicago, which was awarded two Michelin stars in November 2010 under his leadership.

Inspired by his upbringing near Canada's oyster mecca of Fanny Bay, Jason McLeod opened Little Italy seafood house Ironside Fish & Oyster in early 2014, reportedly his first restaurant in partnership with CH. He went on to open many other projects with the company, including bi-level steakhouse Born & Raised, brunch-centered Morning Glory, Chinese restaurant Fortunate Son, industry-focused East Village sandwich shop and Negroni bar J & Tony's Discount Cured Meats and Negroni Warehouse, and Seneca Italian trattoria on the 19th floor of the InterContinental Hotel in San Diego's downtown marina district. Chef McLeod left Consortium Holdings last year and departed San Diego to oversee the construction of a 27,000 square-foot food hall at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Chef Jason is back in town and will host a special dinner with wine pairing at an intimate outdoor setting within a private residence in Barrio Logan on Saturday, September 2, starting at 7pm. The meal costs $200 per person and includes five courses made with locally sourced ingredients with wines paired with each dish. Those interested in attending should reserve their spot by messaging Chef Jason McLeod on Instagram account. The dinner is limited to only 10 guests and is expected to fill up fast. If all goes well, Chef Jason may continue hosting similar events as an ongoing dinner series.
