Barn Door Public House Brings Self-Pour Craft Beverages & Montreal-Style Bagels To San Diego's North County

September 26, 2023

Now open in San Diego's North County is Barn Door Public House, a self-service craft beverage bar and beer garden with a menu of Montreal-style bagels.

From longtime friends Brian Scott, Matthew Veling and Brian McNeill, Barn Door Public House is a restaurant, bar and self-pour tap room sited in the1,375 square-foot standalone building that last housed a Gracie jiu-jitsu gym in San Diego's North County community of Escondido. Named after the reclaimed 100-year-old Kentucky barn door at the business's entrance, the space offers a country-style design featuring a farmhouse-inspire design and a 1,700 square-foot outdoor beer garden with fire pits and bar table seating.

Barn Door Public House offers more than 20 taps of self-pour beverages, including craft beer, wine
hard kombucha and ciders. The eatery will also soon offer a food menu from Hawaii's Empty Elle Bagel Shop with a menu centered around hand-rolled, honey boiled Montreal-style bagels, including specialty decadent night time bagels. Currently, the eatery is serving a selection of flat bread pizzas, as well as appetizers and other finger foods.

Barn Door Public House is now open from 4-10pm Thursday through Sunday at 2500 South Escondido Boulevard in Escondido, CA. For more information, visit barndoorpublic.com.
