Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ restaurant has announced its impending closure after almost 15 years in business in San Diego's La Jolla.
Founded on Prospect Street in La Jolla in 2009 by Jeffrey Nicoletta and Bruce Long, Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ has attracted customers for its menu of ribs, burgers, sandwiches and American barbecue fare. Due to lease issues, the restaurant is closing on Prospect Street at the end of October.
Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ ownership is currently looking for a new space to relocate the company. Due to the nature of barbecue preparation, the restaurant space would require a substantial hood system.
"We’ve seen kids grow up and go off to college, families be made, first dates, anniversaries and lost some wonderful people along the way," continued Long. "This was our home and we were happy to have welcomed you into it. Jeff and I started this business when we were only 27 & 29 years old. We were kids with a chip on our shoulder lol. We literally learned along the way (to say the least.) Much of our success over those years stems from the people we have met, and the relationships we have grown. Some could say that it was due to our hospitality; but Jeff and I know, that without the support from all of Y’ALL, these great years we have had here would NOT be the same! We ask that you keep us in your hearts and minds (and taste buds)… and look out for updates because the new Bubbas Smokehouse BBQ will be coming soon!"
