Founded in Korea in 1995 with over 1,000 locations throughout the globe, BB.Q Chicken returned to San Diego in 2021 after having a store in Kearny Mesa from 2008 through 2013. The company now has locations on San Diego's Convoy Street, in Sorrento Valley, and another in the South County community of National City.
BB.Q Chicken will open its newest area branch in the space that last housed a branch of Tofu House within the plaza that also houses Tajima Ramen and Big 5 Sporting Goods just steps from the San Diego State University Campus. Aiming to unveil this year, the menu will feature a large variety of chicken fried in olive oil then toasted in an array of sauces and seasonings, as well as several side dishes, a couple salads, and a pair of fried chicken sandwiches.
