A Michelin Star-winning San Diego chef is taking the night off from preparing sushi to perform his music live on Halloween night at downtown's House of Blues.
Chef Soichi Kadoya of Michelin-starred Soichi Sushi in San Diego's University Heights will be performing live on Tuesday, October 31 in the Delta room at House of Blues in downtown San Diego. Chef Soichi has been performing in Japan with his band, Munchy Vibes, for over two decades so this will be a very special event to celebrate not just his incredible cuisine but a taste of his music.
Tickets to Soichi's House of Blues concert are available online for $250 and include an exclusive open bar and small bites from Boat to Table Sushi Chef Ryou, as well as hand-crafted sake from World Sake.
In 2019, husband and wife duo Soichi & Raechel Kadoya took over the University Heights space previously occupied by Circa California Soul Food. At the time, Chef Soichi had over two decades of experience in Japanese cuisine, previously a fixture behind the sushi counter at Old Town's Sushi Tadokoro. After converting the former Circa space into an intimate and exclusive Japanese fine dining restaurant centered around omakase service, Soichi opened to great fanfare and after two years in business was awarded its first Michelin star in September 2021, which was reaffirmed in 2022. Earlier this year, with some help from mom and dad, Kadoya's 23 year-old daughter Sakura Kadoya and her parter Rey Palisoc opened a new tea house and cafe concept named Hatsuzakura in the space adjacent to Soichi Sushi that last housed De Nada Kitchen, formerly Cueva Bar, for 13 years.
Soichi Sushi is located at 2121 Adams Avenue in San Diego's University Heights. For more information, visit soichisushi.com.
