San Diego-based brand of luxury cinemas, The Lot has announced all four locations are currently closed due to an alleged system-wide issue affecting the company.
"Dear Guests," reads the email sent from The Lot. "We regret to inform you that our systems are currently down. We are working diligently to resolve the issue and will provide an update as soon as possible. We will remain closed until further notice. If you have purchased tickets, we will refund and/or exchange tickets for future dates. We appreciate your understanding & apologize for the inconvenience."
On Friday, October 6, The Lot took to social media to announce that its systems were down, without mentioning specifics. Today, the luxury theater company emailed its former guests to state all locations would remain closed for the foreseeable future. There is no word on whether the company was hacked, but their website was completely down at time of posting this article. We reached out to representative from The Lot for more information but did not receive a response despite receiving notification messages were read. Many are speculating the business may actually be permanently closing all or some locations due to financial issues.
There is no timetable on when or if The Lot will reopen its four existing location. For more information, follow the The Lot on Instagram.
