In 2008, Chef James Limjoco opened Sublime Alehouse in 4S Ranch, offering a menu of elevated comfort foods and a tap list heavily devoted to San Diego's craft beer. On a quest to expand his restaurant portfolio, Limjoco also opened Sublime Pizza in Rancho Bernardo, Sublime Tavern near the Polo grounds in Del Mar, Sublime Alehouse in San Marcos, and Sublime North Park, but all those locations, including 4S Ranch, have since closed.
Limjoco is repurposing the nearly pier-side space that last housed his extremely short-lived Mak Mak Organic Asian street food concept to open Sublime Taphouse. Like his other previous incarnations of Sublime, the restaurant will serve gourmet comfort food dishes ranging from mac n' cheese to smothered fries, to over-the-top burgers and more. The bar will be devoted to the local beer and beverage industry with many taps of San Diego-made craft beverages.
Sublime Taphouse is expected to open this month at 121 North Cleveland Street in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside. For more information, follow Sublime TapHouse on Instagram.
