Il Posto Italian restaurant and Neapolitan pizzeria will soon open in the space that long housed Eclipse Chocolate in San Diego's South Park.
Translating to "the spot" in Italian, Il Posto is the product of native Italians Maurizio Carbone, Fabio Montagna and Chef Antonio Pappagallo, who also operate Maurizio Trattoria Italiana in the heart of Encinitas. Earlier this year, the team took over the South Park building that housed Eclipse Chocolate for 10 years.
Il Posto will offer an expansive menu featuring antipasti appetizers, salads, classic Italian entrees, make-your-own pasta dish, including vegan varieties, calzones, focaccia, and a lengthy list of authentic Neapolitan-style pizza, as well as a selection of desserts. The restaurant will also have a variety of wines and beer, as well as a private room for events.
