After five years in business, Juan Tequila Baja-style bar and restaurant has ended its run in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter.
In 2018, the team of Gustavo Giardelli, Jose Dabdoub, Shaker Kan, and Daniel Garibay of El Zarape launched Juan Tequila on Fourth Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. The 2,000-square-foot bar and restaurant offered a modern Mexican menu inspired by the Baja Med culinary movement of Northern Baja California.
Juan Tequila has now permanently closed at 535 Fourth Avenue. A Notice to Vacate posted on the restaurant's door indicates they were evicted by their landlord Coo-ee LLC. It is alleged that someone removed the hood system inside the restaurant.
