Popular American grocery chain, Trader Joe's, is opening new San Diego locations in Poway and Santee.
Founded in 1967 by Joe Coulombe in Pasadena, CA, Trader Joe's is a value-oriented, Tiki-themed grocery chain that now has more than 500 locations, including 10 branches in San Diego County. In 1979, German-native Theo Albrecht, who is also the founder of Aldi grocery, bought the company as a personal investment for his family.
Earlier this week, a Trader Joe's spokesperson confirmed a branch of the store would be coming to an undisclosed address in San Diego's East County of Santee in 2024. Public records also show that a new location is opening within Poway City Centre.
The newest San Diego branch of Trader Joe's is expected to open in mid-2024 at 13644 Poway Road in San Diego's Poway community. For more information, visit traderjoes.com.
