Yelp has released its annual "Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S." rankings for 2024, and four San Diego County restaurants made the rankings. Coming in at #3, which is the highest ranked California restaurant, is Sunny Side Kitchen, an Escondido-based sandwich shop from husband-and-wife team Bob & Kate Carpenter.
The next San Diego eatery on the list is Crafted Greens in El Cajon, which came in at the number 16 spot. The fast casual organic restaurant serves an array of family meals, flatbreads, salads, soups, plates and sandwiches.

A San Diego favorite for its gourmet sliders and rotating specials, Rosemarie's Burgers in Mission Beach came in at #40 on Yelp's list. Rounding out Yelp's San Diego honorees is longtime vegan bakery Peace Pies in Point Loma. Since 2009, this Bohemian cafe boasts a health-forward menu of locally sourced dishes made with raw, vegan, gluten-free and soy-free ingredients.

The Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food truck is currently in the process of opening its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in San Diego's La Mesa, which will open any day now.
