San Diego's award-winning North Park Beer Company continues to grow beyond its namesake neighborhood with the upcoming opening of a new satellite taproom & pizza restaurant in Pacific Beach.
North Park Beer Company was first operated out of founder Kelsey McNair's garage before the full-scale brewery unveiled in mid-2016 on the craft-beer saturated University Avenue in the heart of San Diego's North Park. As a home brewer, McNair racked up prestigious awards with his Hop-Fu! IPA becoming the most award-winning home brew recipe in state history. In 2021, North Park Beer's Art is Hard Hazy IPA won a silver medal at the prestigious Great American Beer Festival, but the following year, the company brought home the illustrious Brewery of the Year award for brewing companies producing 2,001 to 5,000 barrels per year, in addition to being awarded a gold, silver and two bronze medals.
In late 2022, North Park Brewing Company opened the doors to the company's first satellite tasting room on the base floor of Secoya by the Park, a mixed-use building on the corner of 5th Avenue and Redwood Street in Bankers Hill. The company has now taken over the 2,268 square-foot space that last housed The Hen House on the corner of La Playa and Ingraham Street in Pacific Beach's Crown Point Area.
Dubbed North Park Beer Co. Pizza Shop, the newest location will feature an onsite bar with taps devoted to North Park Beer's award-winning craft brews, complimented by a kitchen serving house-made pizza and other tavern fare. North Park Beer's incoming third outpost is sited across the street from across the street from famed San Diego burger bar Rocky’s Crown Pub, as well as Bayside Landing bar & restaurant, and an incoming new location of Tajima Ramen House.
North Park Beer Co. Pizza Shop is expected to open later this year at 3805 Ingraham Street in San Diego's Crown Point/Pacific Beach. For more information, visit northparkbeerco.com.
