Now open in San Diego's South Bay is Victorino's Pizzera, a NYC-style pizza shop with a San Diego twist.
Following a fateful trip to New York City, South County San Diego native Victor Lopez decided to open a NYC-style pizzeria near his El Pollo Grill restaurant within a small shopping plaza in the Bonita area of Chula Vista. Lopez searched for a pizza pro who eventually spent weeks teaching him recipes to make authentic New York-style pizza crust.
Victorino's Pizzeria is now open with a menu centered around New York City-style round pizza pies and San Diego-inspired square pizza. All pizzas are constructed using dough made with Caputo Tipo 00 flour and a high-quality blend of mozzarella and provolone cheeses.
Signature pizzas at Victorino's include the Ciao Bella Margarita with housemade red sauce, Parmesan cheese, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil and garlic; The Bonita White with garlic, ricotta, oregano and Parmesan cheese; and the El Padrino with a base of refried El Pollo Grill beans, chorizo, onion, jalapenos, Cotija cheese and capicola. The restaurant also serves pizza made with cauliflower crust, as well as sub sandwiches, calzones, wings, garlic knots, salads, and cannolis for dessert. There are also fountain drinks and bottled beers to wash it all down.
Victorino's Pizzeria is now open at 3047 Bonita Road, Suite 107, in San Diego's South County community of Bonita (Chula Vista). For more information, visit victorinospizzeria.com.
