Now open in the space that last housed Royal Rooster at Seaforth Marina at Quivira Basin in San Diego's Mission Beach is Charli's Landing, a casual waterfront eatery celebrating maritime history from a native San Diego restaurateur.
Brant Crenshaw was born and raised in San Diego, spending most of his life living along Mission Bay. As a kid, he would taxi over to nearby Seaforth Marina to take half-day fishing trips, frequently grabbing a bite at what was The Landing Grille at Quivira Basin.
Fast forward to present day and Crenshaw is now a successful San Diego restaurateur who operates Social Tap American Eatery adjacent to Petco Park and Hive Sushi Lounge in East Village. When the chance came to take over the space he once dined at as a child, he jumped at the opportunity and signed a lease on the former Royal Rooster. Joining him for Charli's Landing is operating partner Ryan Tuller, who has spent his days not only in the restaurant industry, but also as Captain of several yachts between Newport and Panama.
Named after Crenshaw's young daughter, Charli's Landing pays homage to the local fishing community with walls decked out with historic photos. The marina-adjacent eatery serves an all day menu featuring grab-and-go breakfast items to feed the local fishing community in early morning hours, morning-focused dishes like breakfast fried rice, and late-day options ranging from tacos and burritos to smash burgers, wings and sandwiches. The fast-casual eatery has a walk-up ordering system with beer and mimosas available, as well as tabletop QR codes for fast service. Diners can enjoy their meals overlooking the marina on the outdoor deck and within the adjacent park.
Charli's Landing is now open at 1717 Quivira Road in San Diego's Mission Beach area. For more information, follow Charli's Landing on Instagram and check out the menus below
