Deano's Pub founders Dean and Erika Velasco have been partners for the past 28 years. The pair previously opened Riverwalk Grill in Santee in 2017 but ended up recently selling the concept. In late 2021, the duo took over the La Mesa space that long housed The Alibi bar and opened Deano's Pub. Now they are returning to Santee, taking over the unit currently occupied by Hi-C-Era Tavern to open Deano's Pub East.
Deano's Pub East will be a bar with a menu of beer and wine. The former Hi-C-Era Tavern space will receive a new façade, an interior refresh and an upgrade to the sound system.
