Now open in the space that last housed Khorasan Mediterranean Cuisine in San Diego's Clairemont Mesa neighborhood is Hi Guest Music BBQ, a futuristic Chinese skewer restaurant and music bar.
Hi Guest Music BBQ is the product of Hai Qin, Zhonghao Zhou, and Huirong & Minghan Wu. The restaurant serves a menu of Sichuan-style shaokao barbecue skewers. Sited in the Genesee Avenue plaza that also houses as Mike’s Red Tacos and Thai Time 3, the restaurants menu is centered around skewered meats, ranging from boneless beef ribs to sheep testicles, but also includes a lengthy list of appetizers, casseroles, soups, cold plates, noodles, fried rice, desserts and soft drinks.
Hi Guest Music BBQ offers a fun setting with neon light fixtures and wild life-size sculptures decorating the space, as well as a huge screen that shows various landscapes. The space also houses a small stage that will be used by singers on the weekends, including amateurs during certain times.
