"German-Style" Beer Garden Coming Soon To San Diego's University Heights

May 28, 2024

Adams Avenue Beer Garden is an incoming, 3,500 square-foot "German-style" beer hall expected to open later this year in San Diego's University Heights.

Controversial San Diego real estate developer Michael Donovan of SDPB Holdings, LLC, has partnered with his brother Ed and mother Kathleen to open a new "German-style" beer garden, although the have not indicated anything particularly German about it. The concept is part of a six to 11 unit studio and short-term rental apartment building currently under construction on corner of Hamilton Street and Adams Avenue on the border of North Park and University Heights.
Tentatively dubbed Adams Avenue Beer Garden, the concept will offer approximately 1,000 square-feet of interior space with a 2,500 square-foot outdoor area. Plans call for the beer garden to offer a large selection of local brews, as well as wines sourced solely from Southern California and Baja. Although the food component is still in development, expect a menu of California and Mexican-inspired tavern fare. There will also be breakfast items and weekend brunch offerings.

Adams Avenue Beer Garden is expected to open this fall at 2611 Adams Avenue in San Diego's University Heights/North Park. For more information, visit adamsavenuebeergarden.com
