After departing its longtime La Jolla space late last year, Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ will soon revive in San Diego's Pacific Beach.
Last fall, Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ restaurant announced its closure after almost 15 years in business in San Diego's La Jolla. Founded on Prospect Street in La Jolla in 2009 by Jeffrey Nicoletta and Bruce Long, Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ long attracted customers for its menu of American barbecue fare. Due to lease issues, the restaurant was forced to close on Prospect Street in October 2023. Earlier this year, the eatery found a temporary home in the unit previously occupied by Sushi on the Rock within Rancho Bernardo Distribution Center but closed within a short time.
Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ will soon take over the food component at Pacific Beach's decades-old Society bar, restaurant and pool hall. Expect the menu to include barbecue sandwiches, plates, burgers, wings, sides, and smoked meats like pulled pork, brisket, baby back ribs, Texas Black Angus beef ribs, and smoked chicken..
Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ will start serving on May 19 at 1051 Garnet Avenue in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit bubbassmokehousebbq.com.
