Japan's Round 1 Bowling & Arcade Unveils First San Diego Location

June 30, 2024

Japan-based entertainment venue chain Round 1 Bowling & Arcade has finally opened its first San Diego location.

Round 1 Bowling & Amusement was officially founded in 1993 in Japan by Masahiko Sugino, who opened his first U.S. location in Industry, CA, in 2010 after expanding all over his native country. The company now has more than 150 outposts around the United States and Japan, with the goal of opening 10 new stores per year.

The first San Diego location of Round 1 Bowling & Amusement was previously scheduled to open within Westfield North County Mall in Escondido, but plans changed and after a couple years in development, it is now open inside Westfield Plaza Bonita Mall in National City. Like other branches, expect the venue to offer a variety of bowling, including the tech-driven VIP Immersive Lane, karaoke, video game arcades and redemption games, billiards, darts, and ping pong, while serving an array of tavern food and hard & soft beverages.

Round 1 Bowling & Amusement is now open daily at 3030 Plaza Bonita Road, Suite 2075, in San Diego's South County community of National City. For more information, visit round1usa.com.
