Replacing Karina's Restaurant Group's short-lived Santa Gula in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter is Freddy's Chophouse, an affordable steakhouse concept from the owner of nearby Las Hadas Mexican restaurant.
Husband-and-wife Frederick & Ruth Gomez opened Las Hadas Mexican restaurant on Fourth Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter in 2008. Their sons, Bobby & Alan, recently took over the 3,500 square-foot restaurant space next door to Las Hadas, which was most recently occupied for six months by Santa Gula (The Patricios and The Dubliner Irish Pub before that) to open Freddy's Chophouse.
Freddy's Chophouse is an American bistro dedicated to the Gomez's father. Expect a casual dining environment with value-oriented prices in an elevated, classic steakhouse atmosphere. The menu will include shareable appetizers, salads, sandwiches and steaks, as well as a full bar.
Freddy's Chophouse is now open at 554 Fourth Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. For more information, check out the launch menu below.
