Sisters Pizza Opening New Location In San Diego's North Park

June 20, 2024

San Diego's five-year-old Sisters Pizza is opening a new location in the unit that long housed Sicilian Thing Pizza in North Park.

Inspired by family tragedy, Sister's Pizza brought New Jersey-style pizza, American-Italian fare, and family charm to the San Diego's Hillcrest communities when it first opened in June 2019. The restaurant was established by father-and-daughter duo William and Emily Green to honor daughter/sister Kate, who passed away suddenly at the age of 36. Located in a 1,000 square-foot space on the border of Hillcrest and Bankers Hill, the flagship restaurant offers a menu of signature NYC/NJ pizza by the slice and whole pie, as well as entrees, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and more.

"Kate and I shared a love for pizza, and Sisters Pizza is homage to all the wonderful memories we shared," explained founder and New Jersey native Emily Green. "The names of the pizzas are all significant to my sister and I in some way (i.e. 'Chickie Chickie Parm Parm' pizza references our favorite show, Parks & Rec, and 'The Moz' is named after one of our favorite bands, The Smiths, because 'every day is just like Sundae', and the Pepperoni Patty is named after the family poodle)."

The Sisters Pizza team has leased the space occupied for 14 years by Sicilian Thing Pizza for the opening of Little Sisters. The new eatery will offer a more concise menu than the Hillcrest location, with signature pies and slices, as well as meal-sized salads and soups. Lead pizzaiolo and co-owner Trevor Lake will also be creating unique doug-centric specials and new pizza options. Additionally, the restaurant will offer a variety of beer, wine, sodas, and soft drinks, as well as "Freezies," Sisters Pizza's all-natural, frozen, 12" pizzas.

Little Sisters Pizza is expected to open in late 2024 at 4046 30th Street in San Diego's North Park. For more information, visit sisterspizzasd.com.
