Tijuana's popular Taco Tijuanazo is opening its first U.S. location in the heart of San Diego's Hillcrest community.
Tijuanazo Taqueria was originally founded in Tijuana as TacoNazo but had to change its name after a recent dispute with another taco shop chain of the same name. The concept has a handful of branches dotted around Tijuana, with its first U.S. locations opening in San Diego and Los Angeles.
Tijuanazo is in the process of moving into the space that last housed La Taqueria Tijuana on University Avenue in San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood. Like other locations, expect a menu of tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, burritos, mulitas, and tortas on house-pressed tortillas. Options include asada (steak), adobada (marinated pork), chorizo (sausage), suadero (beef belly), tripa (beef tripe), cabeza (beef head), buche (beef stomach), lengua (beef tongue), birria and vegetarian.
