There has been a shooting at a South County San Diego taco shop that has left two people injured and a suspect still at large.
There was a heavy police presence at a Chula Vista plaza Sunday night after gunshots were reported at the Tu Taco Taco Shop on Hilltop Drive, according to police. Chula Vista Police confirmed that officers responded to calls for gunshots at the taco shop located in the 1400 block of Hilltop Drive around 5:30pm.
Upon arrival, officers found two individuals with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital and are in stable condition, according to the CVPD Watch Commander. Witnesses reported that the incident began with an argument between two individuals at the taco shop. As the investigation continues, homicide detectives are still working at the scene. No suspect is currently in custody, and there is no additional information available about the suspect.
The Chula Vista Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as the investigation remains ongoing.
