North County San Diego's Incoming Frontwave Arena Opening Soon With Impressive Lineup Of Local Food & Beverage Vendors

September 3, 2024

Frontwave Arena will open later this month in San Diego's North County, and in addition to being home to the San Diego Clippers basketball team, the entertainment venue will also house an impressive lineup of food & beverage vendors.

Frontwave Arena is gearing up to open its doors in Oceanside, bringing more than just sports and entertainment to the region. With a seating capacity of 7,500, this brand new, state-of-the-art venue is set to host an array of events, including concerts, sports games, and community gatherings. What also sets Frontwave Arena apart is its impressive focus on showcasing local food and beverages, making it a must-visit destination for food lovers in Southern California.

At Frontwave Arena, food and drink take center stage alongside the main events. The arena has partnered with Liquid Sportsgroup to manage all of its culinary offerings, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection that highlights local flavors. From the bustling concourse concessions to the elegant lounges and VIP areas, every corner of the arena will offer something unique for fans to enjoy.

Scott Marshall, CEO of Liquid Sportsgroup and former chief hospitality officer for the San Diego Padres, brings his expertise in creating memorable dining experiences to Frontwave Arena. Drawing inspiration from Petco Park’s celebrated food lineup, Marshall has curated a menu that showcases some of San Diego’s best-loved local eateries.

One of the standout vendors at Frontwave Arena is Cardiff's Seaside Market, known for its iconic "Cardiff Crack" tri-tip. Fans can look forward to enjoying their famous tri-tip nachos, the Cardiff Crack sandwich, and the quintessential California burrito.
Another exciting addition is Gelati & Picatti, a popular eatery with locations in North Park and Encinitas renowned for its Roman-style pizza al taglio, which will be available by the slice. They’ll also offer a selection of Italian-inspired dishes, including a burrata sandwich, as well as various flavors of small-batch gelato.

Frontwave Arena will also include a new location of Tanner’s Prime Burgers. Founded by Michelin-starred fine-dining chef Brandon Rogers and Eric Brandt of Brandt Beef, Tanner's started as a pop-up at the Del Mar racetrack and quickly gained a loyal following with its first brick-and-mortar location opened earlier this year in Oceanside. Now, with a permanent location at Frontwave Arena, fans can enjoy their signature burgers made with locally sourced ingredients.

Brandt Beef also brings Baja Tacos to the arena, a taqueria serving up flavorful dishes like tacos made with Brandt Beef New York strip steak, cheesy quesadillas, and sweet churros. This new addition promises to be a hit with fans looking for high-quality, locally sourced Mexican cuisine.
In addition to its diverse food offerings, Frontwave Arena features several themed bars that cater to different tastes. Fans can enjoy craft cocktails at the Cutwater Cocktail Bar, courtesy of the Miramar-based distillery known for its innovative spirits. Beer enthusiasts can head to the Coors Light Chill Zone or the Modelo Cantina for a refreshing drink while soaking in the lively atmosphere of the arena.

Frontwave Arena will be the home of the San Diego Clippers of the NBA G League and the San Diego Sockers of the Major Arena Soccer League. The arena will grand open on September 16, with a pop concert-style gymnastics spectacle featuring star Olympian Simone Biles. The venue will host its first rock concert, Cake, on Saturday, October 5.
