The San Diego Natural History Museum, fondly known as "The Nat," will mark its 150th anniversary with a Big Birthday Bash celebration on September 27 in Balboa Park.

Founded in 1874, The Nat has grown from a small scientific society to one of the most prominent institutions dedicated to natural history and conservation in Southern California. Originally located in downtown San Diego, the museum moved to Balboa Park in 1933, where it continues to serve as an educational and cultural hub for locals and tourists alike. Over the years, the museum has expanded its exhibits to showcase the rich biodiversity of the region, offering a wide range of programs focused on the natural world.
Guests attending the Big Birthday Bash will be treated to a curated menu crafted by some of San Diego’s most celebrated chefs, including Owen Beatty from Juniper & Ivy, Reyna Venegas from Rancho La Puerta, Brad Wise from TRUST Restaurant Group, and Michelin-starred chef Roberto Alcocer from Valle Restaurant.
