San Diego smash burger destination Eat Crispy Burger is nearly ready to open its newest location in National City.
Founded in Encinitas in 2022 by Angela Ablahad and Ramzy Rahib, Eat Crispy Burger quickly became a dining destination due to its menu of customizable and perfectly seared smash burgers (even making our Top San Diego Burgers List). The family-run burger spot will soon open its second area location in the building that last housed a location of Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers on Miles of Cars Way in National City.
As part of its friends and family soft opening party in National City on Saturday, September 14, Eat Crispy Burger will give the first 100 people that mention SanDiegoVille a free OG Double Cheeseburger. The event takes place from 2-8pm at 327 Mile of Cars Way in National City. The grand opening will then take place on September 22.
In addition to the National City restaurant, Eat Crispy Burger will open another location off Convoy Street in the plaza across from Zion Market in San Diego's Kearny Mesa neighborhood, as well as a branch in the space that previously housed Miss Kim's by That Boy Good in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside. The company will also open an eatery in the former Spitfire Tacos unit within Regents Plaza Marketplace in the UTC area of La Jolla.
Like the original Encintas restaurant, the incoming Eat Crispy Burger stores will have a menu centered around flat-top seared smash burgers made with beef delivered daily and never frozen, as well as a plant-based Impossible meat substitute. Burgers are served on brioche burger buns (or "protein style") and can be customized with a variety of toppings, ranging from bacon and pastrami to avocado, hash brown, and jalapeños. The eatery also sells breakfast sandwiches, fries, onion rings, soft drinks, cookies, ice cream milk shakes, and has a kid's menu.
Eat Crispy Burger locations will open this year at 327 Mile of Cars Way in National City, 4898 Convoy Street, Suite 103, in San Diego's Kearny Mesa, 207 N. Coast Highway in Oceanside, and 4150 Regents Park Row in La Jolla. The original location is sited at 905 Orpheus Avenue right off the I-5 Freeway in Encinitas.
