Now open in San Diego's North Park community is Tablespoon, a local food store and vintage kitchen wares shop from the owners of Collins & Coupe bartender supply store and the popular Cellar Door Supper Club.
Owned by husband-and-wife business partners Gary McIntire and Logan Mitchell, who also run the popular Cellar Door underground supper club, Tablespoon is now open in the suite adjacent to the couple's Collins & Coupe mixologist store on El Cajon Boulevard in North Park. The new shop offers a wide selection of kitchen supplies, including many vintage items, cookbooks, coffee, locally-sourced pantry items, and even sourdough starter.
Tablespoon currently offers San Diego-produced items from Sequoia Nut Butter, Surje Coffee, Juice Jerky, JoJo’s Peanut Butter, Full Circle Ghee, Savage Bee-Ches, Sugar Kiln Cookies, Torque Coffee, and Crysalis Florals, as well as popular emerging brands like Bianco tomatoes, Graza olive oil, Maille mustard, Maldon salt, and more. The store aims to increase their lineup of locally produced items and even asks those interested to reach out by email or Instagram message if they think they may be a good fit.
"We opened Tablespoon in the hopes that it would become sort of a neighborhood 'corner store', so please let us know if we can stock something you need, we'll do our best to find it!", explained owner Logan Mitchell. "We add new items every day and as a chef, there are a handful of tools I believe are indispensable for the home cook, and infinitely more you don't need. We’ve curated our selection (space restrictions demanded it too!) to only reflect high functioning and affordable versions of professional kitchen staples. This and our selection of food items will only continue to grow!"
