San Diego County Fair Releases 2025 Theme 'Summer Pet-tacular' With Pet-Centric Exhibits & Events

The 2025 San Diego County Fair will celebrate the unique bond between humans and their pets with a theme called "Summer Pet-tacular," as announced at the latest meeting of the 22nd District Agricultural Association's Board of Directors.

Set to run from June 11 to July 6 (closed Mondays and Tuesdays), next year's fair promises an array of pet-centric activities and exhibits aimed at creating a lively experience for San Diego’s animal-loving community. The upcoming theme embraces the joys of pet ownership, with CEO Carlene Moore highlighting the fair’s mission to honor these special bonds and its new partnership with the San Diego Humane Society.

Together, they aim to provide educational experiences about responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and adoption opportunities. Gary Weitzman, CEO of the San Diego Humane Society, emphasized that the fair presents an excellent platform for connecting the community with adoptable animals and promoting awareness about pet care.

Key activities will include pet-themed exhibits, interactive displays like a giant ball of yarn to "play" with, and a chance to "swim" through an aquarium castle. A "Pet Pairing" feature will help guests discover the species and breeds best suited to their lifestyles. Attendees can also participate in adoption events, with animals available for new homes.

While pets won’t be generally allowed due to safety considerations, including the potential stress of crowds, loud noises, and hot pavement, select pet-focused activities will be available through pre-registration. These events include pet agility courses, contests, and a parade, allowing pet owners and their furry friends to join in the fun. ADA service animals will continue to be welcome at the fair.

More details about events, tickets, and activities will be released on the fair's website in the coming months. For more information about the San Diego County Fair, visit sdfair.com.
