San Diego's Cocina 35 Brunch Ready To Unveil Sprawling New Bayside Branch At Coronado Ferry Landing

Cocina 35, a San Diego favorite known for its top-rated chilaquiles and Mexican brunch, is set to open a new bayside location at the Coronado Ferry Landing.

Founded in Otay Mesa in 2012 by Paulina Chaidez, Cocina 35 has grown from a humble cafeteria-style breakfast spot to a staple of authentic Mexican brunch across multiple locations. Following openings in Cortez Hill, Barrio Logan, and Liberty Station, this Coronado outpost marks Cocina 35’s fifth location.

The new 4,500-square-foot space, formerly Costa Azul, will bring Cocina 35's popular "Comida Corrida" build-your-own brunch plates, featuring customizable chilaquiles, egg scrambles, tortas, pancakes, tacos, burritos, and more. With indoor and outdoor seating, the Coronado location may also eventually add extended hours, complete with a full bar serving cocktails, beer, and wine.

The new Coronado location will feature an interior decorated with pink trees and other floral decor. The outdoor setting will offer prime views of Downtown San Diego's skyline, along with fire pit tables and comfortable seating.

Cocina 35 Brunch will open on Monday, November 18, at 8am, at 1201 First Street, Unit 115, adjacent to the Coronado Ferry Landing. For more information, visit cocina35.com.
