Sisters Pizza first opened in Hillcrest in 2019, created by father-and-daughter duo William and Emily Green in honor of daughter/sister Kate, who passed away suddenly at the age of 36. The Hillcrest flagship became a community favorite with its NYC/NJ-style pizzas, hearty Italian-American fare, and welcoming vibe.
Now, the Greens are building on their success with a bold new concept inspired by the surprises of life—what started as one restaurant is now two, each with its own distinct personality. Located side by side at 4046-4048 30th Street, the new ventures will bring the same signature flavors with a fresh twist, aiming to open in spring 2025.
Located in the former Sicilian Thing Pizza space, Little Sisters will offer a concise menu featuring signature pizzas, meal-sized salads, soups, and specials crafted by lead pizzaiolo, co-owner and Emily's husband Trevor Lake. It will also serve Sisters Pizza's popular "Freezies," 12-inch frozen pizzas for take-home convenience. The drink selection includes a variety of beers, wines, and sodas.

Next door in the former Meet Cute Romantic Book Store, Twin Sister will complement Little Sister by providing additional seating and a separate liquor license. While the menu will mirror Little Sisters' offerings, Twin Sister will emphasize its distinct atmosphere and expanded beer and wine options.
In a playful nod to their unexpected expansion, the Sisters Pizza team joked, "Remember those stories from the olden days when people didn't realize they were having twins until they were born? In the final stages of labor of Little Sister, we found out we are having twins!"
Both Little Sisters and Twin Sister aim to provide the same welcoming family charm that has defined the original Sisters Pizza, with a focus on community and delicious, dough-driven creations.
Little Sisters and Twin Sister Pizza are expected to open in 2025 at 4046-4048 30th Street in San Diego's North Park. For more information, visit sisterspizzasd.com.
