For more than a century, the Girl Scout Cookie Program has connected communities while empowering Girl Scouts with essential entrepreneurial skills. This year, over 9,400 local Girl Scouts will participate, offering beloved cookie varieties while raising funds for leadership development, outdoor adventures, and community projects. With a lineup of beloved flavors and a new partnership with ABC Bakers, this year's program promises exciting opportunities for both the Girl Scouts and their supporters.
The 2025 cookie lineup includes nine varieties: Trefoils, Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Caramel Chocolate Chip (gluten-free certified), Toast-Yay!, Lemonades, and Adventurefuls. Most cookies will be available for $6 per package, while the gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip will be sold for $7. Notably, five of the cookie varieties - Lemonades, Toast-Yay!, Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, and Adventurefuls - are made with vegan ingredients, and all are certified kosher and halal. The gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip is produced in a dedicated facility and certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization.
Carol M. Dedrich, CEO of Girl Scouts San Diego, emphasized the broader impact of the cookie program, describing it as a "launching pad for the next generation of leaders." According to Dedrich, the program equips participants with essential life skills such as goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. Beyond personal development, the program’s proceeds benefit more than 23,000 youth and adult members in the region by supporting leadership programs, volunteer training, outdoor adventures, summer camp opportunities, and financial assistance.
Another highlight of the season is the Operation Thin Mint (OTM) initiative, a service project unique to San Diego. Since its inception in 2002, OTM has provided more than 4.2 million packages of Girl Scout Cookies, along with handwritten notes of support, to military veterans and deployed troops. This year, the project will culminate with the OTM Family Festival aboard the USS Midway on May 17, celebrating the program’s success and the community’s contributions.
Key dates for the 2025 season include the opening of cookie booths on February 7, allowing consumers to use the Cookie Finder tool to locate a booth nearby. From February 21 to 23, San Diego will host the National Girl Scout Cookie and Girl Scouts San Diego Cookies on Tap Weekend, which pairs cookies with craft beer at breweries and brewpubs across the county. The season concludes on March 9, marking the end of cookie sales but not the end of the program's impact.
Community members can purchase cookies directly from Girl Scouts or through the Digital Cookie platform, which offers options for local delivery or direct shipment. All proceeds remain within San Diego and Imperial counties, ensuring the program’s continued support for local Girl Scouts and their diverse range of activities.
