Phillipines' Famous Bag Of Beans Cafe & Restaurant Opening First U.S. Outpost In San Diego

Bag of Beans Cafe & Restaurant, renowned in the Philippines for its cozy ambiance and delicious Filipino-American fusion cuisine, is set to expand to the United States with its first U.S. location in San Diego County.

Bag of Beans has built a reputation in Tagaytay City, Philippines, since it first opened in 1998. The concept is know for offering a variety of dishes, from hearty breakfast sets including Filipino favorites like tapa and bangus to international flavors like Shepherd's Pie and various pizzas and pastas. Currently operating five branches around Tagaytay, a popular holiday town south of Manila, the cafe is also celebrated for its fresh pastries, particularly the famous Raisin Bread, and its selection of coffees, including the locally beloved Kapeng Barako coffee varietal.
The new branch of Bag of Beans Cafe & Restaurant will be situated within the Village Walk at Eastlake shopping mall in the space that last housed Pho Hiep Grill. The move to Chula Vista, a city with a significant Filipino-American population, is strategic, aiming to cater to both the nostalgia of Filipinos abroad and introduce unique Filipino flavors to a broader audience.

The Chula Vista location promises to retain the essence of the original, with a menu that features the same comforting dishes that have made Bag of Beans a favorite among locals and tourists in the Philippines. The restaurant will also have a full bar with cocktails, spirits, beer and wine. The setting will reflect the rustic and homey atmosphere of its Tagaytay counterparts, complete with lush greenery and a welcoming vibe, aiming to offer diners a taste of Tagaytay's cool highland escape right in the heart of San Diego's South Bay.

Bag of Beans Cafe & Restaurant will open later this year at 872 Eastlake Parkway, Suite 310, in San Diego's South Bay city of Chula Vista. For more information, visit bagofbeansusa.com.
