Catchers Fish House previously operated in Las Vegas, where it first launched in 2019. The original location, which specialized in fried seafood dishes such as red snapper, catfish, po’boys, and fish tacos, eventually closed, Google lists it as "temporary". The restaurant has been working to relaunch its concept, offering what it calls the "best fish and chips on the planet," served by robot waiters in a casual setting.
Catchers Fish House has now taken over the Downtown San Diego space at 531 F Street, which was last occupied by Chefs SD bar and restaurant. The menu is expected to feature a variety of seafood baskets, sandwiches, and sides, including mac and cheese, coleslaw, and lime rice. Signature offerings will likely include fried catfish, soft shell crab, shrimp po’boys, and Nashville hot chicken.
While an official opening date has not been announced, Catchers Fish House is expected to launch in the coming months, serving lunch and dinner daily. The Gaslamp Quarter location will mark its return to the West Coast and introduce its Southern-inspired seafood to San Diego’s downtown dining scene.
In addition to Catcher's Fish House, the space will also house a private, members only social club named Purple Spades Membership Club. Both San Diego businesses will be operated by Kamar Seaton and Asha Wheeler.
Catchers Fish House is expected to open later this year at 531 F Street in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. For more information, visit catchersfishhouse.com.
